15 days until training camp and 42 days until launch day! Oh my goodness, time is flying by so fast. Just in January I was applying for the World Race and now my teammates and I have less than 50 days. As the days get closer I’m getting more excited and nervous. Excited because I can’t wait to see more of this beautiful world God has created and to meet and share the gospel with new people. Nervous because I don’t know what everyday life will look like for me. This is my first time going outside the country!
I am sharing an update with you because I want you to know of my new mission statement for this year. “I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” (Act 20:24)
“I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself…” As I am preparing for the World Race, and when I set foot on this area of the mission field, I have to remember it’s not about me. God has called me to share the gospel with His children. It doesn’t matter what I look like, how I sound, if I stutter, or if I am stepping outside my comfort zone. It’s all about making Jesus known.
“…If only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” My ministry is the great commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Helping fulfill the great commission is the course and ministry that God has given to all Christians, including you. This isn’t just an overseas thing. We have to start right where we are, with our friends, family, coworkers, and strangers. God has been showing me that even though my main purpose for going on the World Race is to share the gospel, it started the moment I accepted Jesus into my heart. It’s telling people about Jesus but also the way we treat and love others.
I wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone that has been so supportive by praying, giving financially, and/or telling others about it. God bless you!
Makalah, May God bless your obedience in His calling on your heart. You are an inspiration ??
Thanks! Super excited to see how God will use me.
