Hello everyone! My squad and I made it to Guatemala August 12th. My team and I made it to Mixco Guatemala August 13th where we started working with our ministry partner. The first night we went to our ministry host and helped out at his church. We served the church food, and prayed for a lady. After that for a couple days we just did a lot of going to the bank and getting to know Mixco. On August 17th we did our first official ministry day, on that day we started off by praying then we went to the store to buy food for a family. We walked to the family house and did a house visit. There the mom shared some pretty hard things with us; we prayed for her daughters and her. We spoke words of encouragement over them and reminded them of their identity in Christ. Later that day we went to the police station and prayed for the new offices and spoke words of encouragement over them as well.  On August 19th we did  five home visits, and each was beautiful and hard in its own way.

Guatemala is super beautiful and full of colors but I’ve been struggling being here because of the language barrier but through that  God has shown me love has no language barrier. I can’t understand our ministry host or house host but they show us that they love and care for us by the way that they pay attention to us and try to talk to us. They crack jokes with us and when one of my teammates got sick they took good care of her. My heart is definitely full of love!

Thank you to all of my partner, please let me know how I can be praying for you this next week?

Enjoy some pictures that friends and I have taken over the past two week.
 Love you all so much!

I know what you’re saying about struggling with the language barrier, but then realizing that God’s love has no barriers. It’s amazing what you can communicate through a smile, hug or act of kindness.
